A growing number of farmers in WA are making the decision to move to organic production, this is being done without any research support or assistance from the Government of WA which seems to have become aligned to multinational agrichemical and gene technology companies. These farmers are demonstrating that organic farming is an economically viable option, it is their experimentation that will become the farming practices of the future.
By supporting the farmers listed below you are contributing to sustainable farming that looks after farm land and the environment for future generations as well as looking after your own health by avoiding the many toxins that conventional farming practice introduce into the food chain. Not only are you avoiding the toxins but the food grown by organic principals is more nutritious as it has not been “pumped up” with soluble fertilisers .
To find the freshest food, look for Farmers Markets where farmers are selling local produce direct to consumers,
or visit the
Organic Associations of WA's Directory. Not all Farmers Market produce is organic but being fresh it is more nutritious than produce that has gone through the long supply chains of the two national retail chains.
