Our award winning Food and Wine Trail is a 32-kilometer scenic
loop encompassing more than 150 places to eat , drink and be
merry including relaxed winery cafes, busy breweries and
distilleries, fine restaurants and – a trademark of the valley –
many roadside stalls selling just-picked local produce.
Not that our valley is just about eating and drinking. The
region is also home to world-class art galleries an array of
family friendly activities including a wildlife park, cycle
paths, heritage walk trails and Aboriginal cultural experiences.
As the states oldest producer we are particularly proud of our
wines, which range from verdelho – a valley specialty – to other
white styles, full bodied reds and some of the best fortifieds
in the world.
Ultimately, what makes the valley such a special place to
explore is its people. Visit a cellar door and, chances are,
you’ll be greeted by the owners themselves, eager to share a
yarn about the region’s 170 years of viticulture.
