Visitor Information Channel
Visitor Information Channel

Would you like your guests to stay an extra night or two?

Your guests may be willing to stay longer, if you give them more to do.

Western Tourist Radio has made it easy for you by developing a radio program that can be heard on a Visitor Information Channel on your TV system. The radio program promotes local attractions  via a Free To Air radio service. Your guests can hear information about things to do, giving them a reason to stay an extra night. Commercial guests will be better informed of the region and might return with their families for a weekend, or longer.

These are the benefits:

  • The program gives you complete control over the picture content

  • You can promote your specials, upcoming functions, free of charge

  • One off cost, no ongoing fees

  • No competing advertising for local accommodation as the program only contains “things to do and see”

  • Extremely cost effective

The system is already in use by the The Sanctuary Golf Resort in Bunbury and the Edge of the Forest Motel in Margaret River.

Mark Adams, General Manager of the All Seasons Sanctuary Golf Resort said:

I use Western Tourist Radio's program to provide an entertaining and informative audio component to our Visitor Information Channel. I am able to generate my own picture content for this channel so it is a highly cost effective way for me to promote coming events, specials, our golf facilities as well as general housekeeping information. This channel has the potential to become virtually a video compendium.

I certainly have no hesitation in recommending other hotel managers the use of tourist radio program in this way.

Should you require further information about the system we use please feel free to contact me.       Mark can be contacted on 9725 2777

In-house visitor channel a first in Bunbury

Using the Western Tourist Radio program, Sanctuary Golf Resort in Bunbury has become the first business in Western Australia to establish an in-house Visitor Information Channel.

Broadcasting local tourist information to guest rooms helps market the destination as well as entices guests to increase their length of stay.

Business owners can have their own images as well as local attractions displayed on the television. The service is available to accommodation businesses in Perth and the coastal South West areas of Bunbury, Busselton, Dunsborough, Margaret River and Augusta . This service is also available to Visitor Centres in these areas.

You may not be the first, but can you afford to be left behind?

Issue No 221, 26 August 2004 states

Tourism Western Australia research shows that visitors to Western Australia believe it offers a variety of unique, natural experiences in an unspoilt, pristine environment. WA is renowned for its relaxed, laid back lifestyle and its friendly, down to earth, locals. Our visitors often comment that WA offers the authentic Australian experience - the Australia they expected and hoped to see.

Research has indicated that many travellers believe tourism spots in Australia have become overcrowded and overcommercialised. There is also a growing sense of nostalgia for the Australia that existed before the development and commercialisation of recent years.

Western Tourist radio programs promote local attractions including the less-crowded and less-commercial attractions

Now is the perfect time to add the Western Tourist Radio program to your list of services. Your guests will thank you for it.

To find out how you can use this exciting, low cost system please email Barry Green at barry@touristradio.com.au or call 9731 7006
