Donnybrook Apple Fun Park
The biggest free entry Fun Park in Australia

Donnybrook is situated in the South West of Western Australia in a picturesque area surrounded by stunning old growth forests, winding rivers, rolling hills, vineyards and lush orchards.  Donnybrook is historically known and is still regarded as the first genuinely “rural” township of consequence that one enters when travelling south from Perth . We all know about No Leave No Life, and Donnybrook is a great place to take your leave.

Donnybrook also boasts a highly central location being only half an hour from the city life and beautiful beaches of Bunbury, an hour from the tranquil waters of Geographe Bay and the famous Margaret River Wine Region, while still being within short driving distance of the tall timbers of the rest of the Southwest’s abundant attractions.  Its central location is also relative to significant and adjacent areas of employment such as Bunbury, Capel, Collie and Greenbushes.

Due to our healthy local economy, and the benefit of several diverse industries nearby, we promote a unique rural lifestyle rich in heritage and culture.  Local industries include Donnybrook sandstone quarrying, farming fruit, vegetables, viticulture, sheep and cattle.

The Donnybrook Apple Festival is a biennial event, their website is well worth a visit and the Donnybrook Gourmet Wine and Food Fest is held in Feburary

Tourism is also rapidly becoming an important industry with local attractions, which include the scenic areas of the Blackwood River Valley , State Forests , Glen Mervyn Dam, and several established wineries, Donnybrook is central to the Geographe Wine Region.  Tourist accommodation ranges from high-class accommodation to bed and breakfast establishments.  Chalet developments are situated at various localities in the Shire. There is a Caravan Park in Kirup and transit parks in Donnybrook and Balingup. To find more Bed and Breakfasts to stay in as you travel around WA check out www.bandbwa.net.au .

Call in at the Donnybrook Visitor Centre located in the old railway station building on the main street and collect a free brochure and map that details local scenic drives and attractions and wineries of the area. This brochure is also available at many other Visitor Centres around the South West.

To find out what's going on around Donnybrook you can read the local community paper  the Preston Press on line.
