A destination for all seasons. Some things never change in this charming town. Friendly country people, great quirky shops, galleries, cafes, and antique shops to peruse and pick up a bargain.

Golden Valley Tree Park is a wonderful arboretum park and an ideal place to picnic. The world famous Bibbulmun Track passes through Balingup and it is great for day walks. Every season brings spectacular changes in landscape colours.

Balingup is renowned for hosting great events, among them the Small Farm Field Day    in April the Medievale Carnival in August and the Balingup Garden Expo is held in October on the estate of Jalbrook in Balingup .

Hillsides and valleys of the region are dotted with vineyards, orchards, olive groves and market gardens. With diverse climate changes the range of grapes has enabled the region to produce some great wines. Many of the boutique vineyards handpick and produce premium wines at low prices. Olive’s groves are producing great oils with many of the grower’s value adding to their product. Stone fruit and apples are famous in this region and cherries in season bring in tour companies to purchase the succulent fruit.

Balingup has attracted a stream of very talented artists who have settled in this picturesque town and many have work shown in some of the many galleries in the town and surrounding region.

Four distinct seasons each offering something different with a profusion of bulbs and buds in spring with abundant birdlife, amazing colours of reds, gold’s and everything in between in autumn. Bare branches and romantic mists in winter and summers sunburnt ‘scapes. Whatever the season you will enjoy a kaleidoscope of changing colours that will continue to enchant you.
